General Comments
Any work with your name on it has to be your own work. Copying
from a friend, from a book, a web site or any other source is not your
work and I do not want to see it. Depending on the situation, such
behavior merits a zero, an avertissement, dividing the grade
in 2 to share it with the person you copied from or a réparation.
Ways of Passing in Homework
Did you know there is more than one way to give me your
homework? You may pass in work in any of the following five
ways:
- The traditional way - on
paper with your answers written by hand.
- The computer-literate way
- done on the computer and printed out. Some teachers do
not accept this because computers have spell checkers. I
encourage using computers especially because they have things
such as spell checkers!
- The all-digital way - done
on the computer but instead of printing it out, you give me
a
diskette, a CD or a USB thumbdrive. Please
make sure your name is on the outside of the memory storage device
and on the document inside. Also, respect the same file format rules as
explained for e-mail - Click
here to see the format rules.
- By e-mail - you send
it to me by electronic mail. Click
here to find out how.
-
The
online way - if you are a real computer whiz and you
have your own web space, you could publish your homework as a web
page and send me the address. If you create
a new space, please do not use my name or the school's name in the
address - it's your space so use your name.
What if the homework is late?
Is there a penalty? Any late work that I receive has 10%
of the maximum grade taken off. So a 15 out of 20 becomes a 13 and
an 8 out of 10 becomes a 7. It is better to give in a paper late
than to give nothing at all because if I receive no work, it is a
zero. Just like for other forgetfulness, the third time you forget
a homework, you will get a mise-en-garde.
Where should you bring it? If it is not in class, the
best way to give me late work is to find me personally. You can
check my online schedule to see where I am
at all times during the week. If you cannot find me, DO NOT put
the paper in the mailbox "Courrier Professeurs / Elèves".
There is no way for me to verify if you put it in the box and papers
without my name on them get thrown in the bin. It is better to
give the paper to the lab technician (Christine) in the Biology Office (between A1 and A2) and
she will put it in my mailbox there.
